A single-herb liquid extract of dried herb of Echinacea purpurea, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Purple coneflower is the garden echinacea and the commonest of the three species in trade. It has broad rough hairy leaves, and flower heads with a stiff bristly orange-brown cone surrounded by rose-purple rays that droop backwards as the head matures. Underneath it makes a fibrous mass of roots rather than the single deep taproot of the prairie species, which is why it is far easier to farm and why almost all of it now comes from cultivation. This extract is made from the above-ground herb.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

People allergic to ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds or other Asteraceae may react to echinacea. Not for use by anyone with an autoimmune condition or taking immunosuppressants. Not for continuous long-term use.

If you are taking any medication, have a medical condition, or are scheduled for surgery, consult a healthcare practitioner before use. Discontinue use if an adverse reaction occurs.
